Everything people actually ask us, grouped by what you're trying to find out. If yours isn't here, ask us directly — we answer every email.

Buying from a machine

What's actually inside a slot?

Sealed, factory-fresh Pokémon TCG product. Nothing is opened, resealed, weighed or swapped before it goes in the machine, and every slot is labelled with exactly what it dispenses and what it costs. More detail on the stock policy page.

How do I pay?

Contactless card, Apple Pay or Google Pay at the machine. No cash slot, no account, no app to install first. Payment is handled by our card processor — EdinCard never sees or stores your card details.

Is there a minimum age?

No. Trading cards aren't age-restricted product, and an EdinCard machine sells a named item at a printed price — it isn't a gambling machine and there's no random-prize mechanic.

Can I get a receipt?

Yes. Email us the venue, slot code and approximate time and we'll match it to the vend log and send one. Your bank statement will also show the charge against EdinCard Ltd.

Can I buy several at once?

Each vend is a separate purchase — tap, select, repeat. There's no multi-buy discount, and no bundling across slots.

When something goes wrong

I paid and nothing dropped. Now what?

Email info@edincardvending.com within 48 hours with the venue, the slot code and roughly what time it happened. We check that against the vend log and arrange either a replacement pack held at the venue or a refund to the card you paid with — your choice. Please don't shake or tip the machine.

Can I return a pack I've changed my mind about?

Not once it's dispensed. A vend is an immediate, in-person sale of a sealed item, so the distance-selling cooling-off period doesn't apply. If the item you received was damaged, wasn't what the slot label said, or didn't dispense at all, that's a different matter and you're covered — email us.

The pack I got was damaged.

Email us with a photo, the venue and the slot code. Sealed product should arrive with an intact wrapper; if it doesn't, we replace or refund it. Damage caused after opening isn't something we can do anything about.

The price on the reader didn't match the label.

Then the machine is wrong, and you get refunded the difference. Tell us the venue and slot code — that's a configuration fault we need to fix, not just for you.

The machine's empty or switched off.

Let us know which venue. Machines are serviced on a fixed schedule, but a site selling faster than expected will run down between visits and we'd rather add a visit than leave dark slots.

Stock and authenticity

How do I know packs haven't been weighed or resealed?

Because everything is bought sealed through UK trade distribution and established wholesalers, and stays sealed until it's loaded into a slot. We never open, weigh, map or reseal product, and we don't buy loose packs from secondary marketplaces. Anything showing signs of tampering goes back to the supplier rather than into a machine.

How do you decide what's stocked?

By what's available at trade and what each venue's regulars actually buy. Every machine carries a mix of standard single-pack slots, two-pack bundles and a small number of limited Vault slots. Slots that don't move get reassigned rather than left to gather dust.

Do you sell singles, graded cards or mystery boxes?

No, none of the three. Sealed product only. If a product's appeal depends on you not knowing what's in it, we're not stocking it.

Can I request a specific set?

Yes, and we do act on requests where we can buy the product. Some older sets simply aren't available at trade any more, so it's not a promise — but tell us anyway, because requests genuinely shape what we chase.

Do you take trade-ins or card submissions?

Not at the machine, and not yet. It's on the roadmap once the core stocking and servicing operation is solid across more sites.

Locations and venues

Where are the machines?

Our first machine is going into Edinburgh Waverley station (EH1 1BB) — it isn't taking payments yet. Every machine is listed on the locations page with its venue, address and opening hours from the day it goes live, and more units follow across the city through late 2026. Leave your email there and we'll tell you when the first one opens.

Can I get a machine in my venue?

Yes, and it costs the venue nothing. EdinCard supplies, installs, insures, stocks and services the unit; you provide a square metre and a socket, and take a share of every vend. See host a machine.

Are you outside Edinburgh yet?

Not yet. Edinburgh and the immediate surrounds are where we can service properly, and servicing is the whole business. Get in touch anyway — where the demand is is how we decide where to go next.

I've spotted a perfect spot for one.

Tell us. Venue suggestions from locals are how the good sites get found, even when you don't run the place yourself. Use the contact form and say why it'd work.

Didn't answer it?
