Terms & conditions

The terms on which EdinCard Ltd sells product from its machines and operates this website. Written to be read, not to be survived.

Before publishing

These terms are complete in substance but still need EdinCard Ltd's registered company number and registered office inserted below, and a solicitor's read-through before they're relied on. Venue hosting is governed by a separate signed agreement, not this page. Delete this box once that's done.

1. Who you're dealing with

These terms are between you and EdinCard Ltd, trading as EdinCard Vending, a company registered in Scotland with company number [company number to be inserted], registered office [registered office address to be inserted]. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean EdinCard Ltd.

You can contact us at info@edincardvending.com. If we need to contact you, we'll use the email address or phone number you gave us.

2. What these terms cover

They cover purchases made from an EdinCard vending machine, and your use of this website. They do not cover venue hosting arrangements — if you host a machine, that's governed by the separate written hosting agreement you sign with us.

By buying from one of our machines you accept these terms. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

3. The machines and what they sell

Our machines dispense sealed trading card product. Every slot is labelled with the item it dispenses and the price charged.

  • All product is sold sealed, exactly as supplied by its manufacturer.
  • We do not open, weigh, sort, map or reseal product before it goes into a machine.
  • The contents of a sealed pack are determined by its manufacturer. We make no representation about which specific cards a pack contains, and the chance of any particular card is the manufacturer's, not ours.
  • A purchase is a purchase of the named sealed item, not a chance at a prize. Our machines are not gaming or gambling machines and contain no random-prize mechanic.

Availability varies by machine and over time. Stock shown on this website is illustrative of the kinds of product we carry and is not an offer of any specific item.

4. Price and payment

The price of an item is the price displayed on its slot label at the time of purchase, in pounds sterling, inclusive of VAT where applicable.

Our machines accept contactless card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay only. They do not accept cash. Payment is taken by our payment provider; we don't receive or store your card number.

If the price charged differs from the price on the slot label, the slot label price applies and we'll refund the difference on request.

5. When the contract is made

A contract is formed when your payment is authorised and the machine dispenses your item. If payment is authorised but the machine fails to dispense, no contract is completed and you're entitled to a replacement or a refund under section 6.

6. Failed vends, faults and refunds

If you pay and the item doesn't dispense, or the item dispensed isn't what the slot label described, or arrives with a damaged wrapper:

  • Email info@edincardvending.com within 48 hours, telling us the venue, the slot code and roughly what time it happened. A photo helps.
  • We'll check your report against the machine's vend log.
  • Where the report is supported, we'll offer a replacement item held for you at the venue, or a refund to the card you paid with — your choice.

Refunds are made to the original payment card and typically reach you within 5–10 working days of us approving them, depending on your bank.

The 48-hour window helps us match a report to a vend while the log is fresh. It doesn't remove your statutory rights, and we'll still consider a late report where the circumstances justify it.

Change of mind

Buying from a machine is an immediate, in-person purchase, so the 14-day cooling-off period that applies to distance and online selling does not apply. Once an item has been dispensed we can't accept it back because you've changed your mind, or because you're unhappy with which cards were inside a sealed pack.

Your statutory rights

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they aren't, you're entitled to a repair, replacement or refund as the Act provides. Nothing in these terms limits that.

7. Using the machines properly

Please don't tip, rock, strike or attempt to open a machine, whether to free a stuck item or otherwise. It's how people get hurt and how units get damaged. Tell venue staff and email us instead — we'd far rather refund you.

You're responsible for any loss or damage caused by deliberate misuse, tampering or attempted theft, and we will pursue it. Machines are monitored and vends are logged.

8. Our liability to you

We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.

We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for breach of your legal rights in relation to the goods.

We're not liable for loss that isn't foreseeable, or for business losses — these terms cover supply to consumers for private use, and we have no liability for loss of profit, business, business interruption or business opportunity.

We are not liable for the market value of any card, now or in future. Trading card values fluctuate and are entirely outside our control.

9. This website

We work to keep the information on this site accurate and current, but we don't warrant that it's complete or error-free. Machine locations, availability and stock change; the site reflects our best current information, not a guarantee.

The content, design, text and graphics on this site are owned by or licensed to EdinCard Ltd. You may view and print pages for your own use; you may not reproduce them commercially without our permission.

We may change or suspend this site, and may update these terms. The version published here at the time of your purchase is the version that applies to it.

10. Trademarks

Pokémon and Pokémon TCG are trademarks of Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and GAME FREAK inc. EdinCard Ltd is an independent operator and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by those companies. We refer to those names only to describe the genuine, sealed product we sell.

11. Complaints

Email info@edincardvending.com and tell us what's gone wrong. We'll acknowledge within two working days and aim to resolve within 14 days. We'd much rather fix a problem than have you take it elsewhere.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and disputes may be brought in the Scottish courts. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your own country.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the rest remain in force.
